Steve sent an email today stating “I miss Dad – he was more of a Tiger than a wallflower.”
Bob replied – “Steve, I miss your dad too. He gave me a lot of good advice growing up and we had a lot of fun in the college years with both of us going to Washington U. Under his watchful eye, he would not let me smoke until I was in the Army and out of his control on my own at age 22. (Margaret put pressure on me to go to smoking sensation classes and I was able to quit when I was about 36 or 37.) Also, your dad also encouraged me to go through ROTC, where I only had to serve six months on active duty. And for our finance class, he would hold a group session at Claude Sr’s apartment where he had an uncanny sense of what questions will be asked on the finance test. Attendees included Don Davis and Bill Bouchein.
