Baseball player George Sisler “Gorgeous George” was the American League MVP in 1922 and the manager of St. Louis Browns from 1924 to 1926. He liked to hang out at the Buckingham Hotel. Rosemary saw him and his sons practicing throwing moves in the lobby and was quite taken by them.
Rosemary’s cousin Rose Hall was 2 years younger than Rosemary and a very gifted pianist as she could play symphony pieces from memory. Rosemary played also but really admired Rose Hall. A group of more elderly patrons of the hotel voted Rosemary’s family the happiest in all of the hotel. Rosemary told Bob it was because they were having so much fun in talking about the elderly patrons.
