Claude and Rosemary took a month and a half long trip to Europe in 1935.

The RMS Majestic was originally the SS Bismarck, built in Hamburg, Germany in 1914 and given to the allies as part of Word War I reparations. 956 feet long.

The RMS Aquitania was built in Scotland in 1914 and “earned the nickname “the Ship Beautiful” from her passengers.” 901 feet long.

They toured in England, Germany, France, and possibly Holland. Rosemary was pregnant with Bob, and when clothes shopping in Europe the natives were impressed to see a pregnant woman since there was such a bad depression at the time.
The sight of German brown-shirts (Nazi thugs) was disturbing to Rosemary.
In Berlin, some pretty German women asked Claude Sr for a dance. Rosemary told them “I’m sorry he can’t dance because he has a bad knee”.
Upon returning to New York, Rosemary said she was never so happy to see the Statue of Liberty.
