According to Bob, Claude Jr had a unique trick when getting a new pair of Levi jeans. Without washing the jeans he’d wear them and go to the ice skating rink in Pasadena, CA. He’d build up speed on the rink, and then slide on his new jeans, leaving a blue stripe on the ice. And thus the jeans were broken-in.
