Misbehavior at the movie theater

This story relayed from Bob to Steve 5/13/2021
Bob, Claude Jr, and another friend went to the movies on Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena, CA in 1948. Because they were being noisy and rambunctious they were asked to leave. The theater required them to sign their names in order to get refunds for their tickets. Claude Jr signed his name “Bernie Coughlin”.

Some bad guys slashed the leatherette sofas in the men’s lounge at the theater. The theater called the police and provided them the list of names of those who had been kicked out, as they might be suspects for the sofa slashing. A police detective went to the school to interrogate Bernie Coughlin who was quite alarmed since he hadn’t been to the theater.
