I heard this song on Lexington’s Hank 96.1, which broadcasts close to my house. Hearing the phrase “honky tonk dream” sounded close to “a COVID vaccine” so I thought of a new verse and refrain for the song. As of December 2020, restaurants and bars are closed in Kentucky.
I find some interesting parallels between the summers of 1975 and 2020, which are 45 years apart.
